Peloton is gearing up to release its new Strength+ app, dedicated entirely to strength training. In a recent interview on the *Intentional Wisdom* podcast hosted by Greg Campion, Peloton coach Andy Speer provided a glimpse into what users can expect from this innovative platform.
Designed specifically for users who want to engage more deeply in strength training at the gym, the Strength+ app will be a standalone offering, separate from Peloton's existing digital app. The new app will feature gym workout programs guided by expert coaches, offering audio instructions and personalized coaching tips. Users can also take advantage of a custom workout generator that creates tailored training plans based on available equipment, training focus, time, and other factors.
Andy Speer highlighted several key features of the Strength+ app during the interview. The app will support a variety of gym workouts, including those utilizing barbells, dumbbells, benches, and various other gym equipment. Additionally, it will cater to users with home gyms, providing them with the same level of detailed instruction and guidance. Beyond individual workouts, the app will also offer comprehensive training plans designed to help Peloton members organize their routines more effectively.
The app will include step-by-step instructions and video demonstrations, with workout tips provided by Peloton coaches. These meticulously crafted plans aim to equip users with the confidence they need to execute exercises correctly and safely in the gym. As Andy described, the app offers “carefully designed, guided training,” allowing users to select from various training plans that align with their fitness goals.
One exciting aspect of the Strength+ app is the potential inclusion of training content filmed outside Peloton's studios, adding variety to the training environment. Earlier this year, Peloton shared behind-the-scenes images of coach Rad Lopez performing barbell exercises in a gym, which may be related to the upcoming app.
As of now, Peloton has not disclosed the pricing structure for the Strength+ app. Whether it will be included in the existing Peloton membership or require an additional fee remains to be seen, with further official announcements expected soon.
