IHRSA, on the other hand, is dedicated to advancing, promoting, and protecting the health and fitness industry by offering services that contribute to the success of its members, thereby driving the global fitness industry forward.

Overview of the Brazilian Fitness Market

As the largest economy and most populous country in Latin America, Brazil holds a significant position in the global fitness market. In 2023, Brazil’s GDP reached approximately $2.19 trillion, marking a 2.9% growth from the previous year. With a population of 215 million, Brazil has the second-highest number of gyms worldwide (34,509) and 9 million active fitness members, trailing only the United States. Despite this, Brazil's obesity rate has surpassed 20% and is rapidly increasing, with projections suggesting it could reach 35% by 2030. This scenario presents a vast potential market for the fitness industry.

The IHRSA Fitness Brasil 2024 promises to be a landmark event, setting the stage for the future of fitness and wellness in Brazil and beyond.
