1. Realleader USA Expands in Germany


Realleader USA, a China-based strength equipment specialist, has opened its second store in Germany, continuing its expansion in the country. The new location in Cologne-Rath boasts a 1,300-square-meter showroom where customers can test the equipment. The glass-fronted building offers convenient parking with a clear view of the machines. Realleader aims to set new standards with this showroom. The grand opening, scheduled for October 26, 2024, will include food trucks, a live DJ, and various activities to celebrate with gym owners and their teams.


2. Fitness First UK Launches IV Drip Service


Fitness First, a leading gym chain in the UK, has introduced IV drip services at its Tottenham Court Road club in London, in partnership with Get A Drip. This makes it the first mainstream fitness club operator to offer such services. The IV drip service, available weekly on Mondays, includes options like Calm Drip, Energy Drip, and Fitness Drip, providing quick absorption of essential vitamins and minerals. This initiative aligns with Fitness First's strategy to enhance its premium health experience, led by President Justin Musgrove, who is also working on partnerships with telemedicine experts like Health Hero to provide comprehensive medical services to members.


3. U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) Launches 337 Investigation into Fitness Equipment Imports


On September 23, 2024, the U.S. ITC began an investigation following a complaint by Balanced Body, Inc. regarding the import of specific fitness equipment, notably Pilates beds, that allegedly infringe on several U.S. patents. The complaint targets companies from the U.S., China, and Hong Kong. Balanced Body has requested exclusion orders to halt the import and sale of these products in the U.S. This investigation could lead to significant restrictions on the importation of certain fitness equipment.


4. Therabody Unveils New Products for Recovery and Sleep


Therabody, the U.S.-based wellness tech brand, has launched five new products aimed at enhancing athletic recovery and improving sleep. The new Theragun Prime Plus, equipped with heat therapy, promises faster muscle recovery. Additionally, Therabody’s JetBoots PRO Plus and Prime, two new lightweight pneumatic compression boots, offer cutting-edge recovery technology with wireless and infrared capabilities. The brand has also introduced the SleepMask and the second-generation SmartGoggles, designed to improve sleep quality. These products are now available for pre-order through major retail channels.


5. T-APEX Launches Next-Generation Smart Resistance Training Device


Hunting Technology Limited has released T-APEX, a new smart resistance training device designed to boost athletic performance across various sports. The device offers precise torque control up to 40 kgf and features real-time data analysis for performance optimization. T-APEX is lightweight and portable, making it suitable for both gym and outdoor training environments. It supports multisport applications, including football, baseball, and swimming, by improving speed, agility, core stability, and more. With a price under $5,000, T-APEX offers a high-quality, cost-effective solution for athletes and coaches.


6. Vietnam International Sport Show 2024 Kicks Off in Ho Chi Minh City


The Vietnam International Sport Show 2024 opened on September 26 in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring 350 exhibitors from 12 countries. The event, running through September 28, focuses on sports apparel, outdoor gear, health and fitness equipment, and sports facilities. Over 15,000 industry professionals are expected to attend, offering ample networking and business opportunities. Highlights include a sports fashion show, the Vietnam Street Fitness Championship, and the concurrent Vietnam Bicycle Show. The exhibition showcases the latest innovations in the fitness industry and is a key event for discovering new trends and partnerships in the region.
