1. Velites Becomes Official Grip & Jump Rope of  CrossFit Games

CrossFit has announced a new partnership with Velites, making the advanced jump rope brand the official grip and jump rope of the CrossFit Games for the next three years. This collaboration will see the launch of co-branded hand grips, jump ropes, and wristbands, available for purchase at the event. Additionally, Velites will provide free limited-edition wristbands to CrossFit Open registrants and spectators during the Games. Athletes participating in this year’s Community Cup will also receive a $25 gift card from Velites. Velites is set to be the Presenting Sponsor at events like the In-Affiliate Semifinals and the CrossFit Games Finals, with a showcase at the Games in Albany, August 1-3. CrossFit has also named PBfit as its official peanut butter sponsor.


2. Total Fitness Wakefield Announces Investment in New Fitness Equipment

Total Fitness, a leading health club brand in Northern England and Wales, has entered into a partnership with DRax, a renowned fitness equipment supplier. The collaboration involves a six-figure investment, surpassing £500,000. As part of this investment, Total Fitness will upgrade the cardio equipment across all 15 of its clubs, including the Wakefield site in Ossett, featuring new cross trainers, upright bikes, and recumbent bikes designed for high performance. The introduction of the ‘My Mountain’ machine, combining a treadmill and stair climber in one device, will further enhance the club’s fitness offerings. The Wakefield club will also see an increased number of stair climbers to meet growing demand.


3. Torque Fitness Launches The Tank M3 Push Sled

Torque Fitness has launched the Tank M3, a modern take on the traditional push sled. This new version includes features such as a swivel system for smooth turns, adaptable magnetic resistance for various surfaces, and an integrated data screen to track performance. The Tank M3 aims to provide a low-impact, full-body workout and is designed to cater to the increasing demand for strength training equipment globally. Torque Fitness will display the Tank M3 at The HFA Show in Las Vegas from March 12-14. Pre-orders for the new sled have already begun.


4. Leike (LEFIT) Plans to Open 600 New Stores in 2025

China's Leike Sports (LEFIT) has announced plans to expand its fitness footprint in China, with a goal to open over 600 new stores by 2025, covering 15 additional cities. The new stores will feature larger premises and a broader selection of equipment. Leike, which started in 2015, has grown significantly, currently operating nearly 1,800 stores across 20 cities. The brand aims to drive further growth by offering innovative fitness solutions and building a robust online-offline presence. As of December 2024, Leike’s membership has surpassed 12 million, with its store count exceeding 1,700 locations.


5. Merach to Launch AI Fitness Solutions with DeepSeek

Merach, a leading Chinese fitness equipment brand, is set to launch a cutting-edge AI-powered fitness solution in April 2025, in collaboration with DeepSeek’s advanced AI technology. This new system will enhance workout precision significantly and includes features like dynamic personal training, a complete course guide, and home fitness programs. Merach’s products, including ellipticals, treadmills, and cycling machines, are already popular in China and internationally. The brand is now targeting high-end home and commercial markets with its new AI integration, furthering its commitment to smart fitness solutions. In 2024, Merach's revenue reached RMB 1.6 billion (approx. $219 million), with overseas sales accounting for 43.75%.


6. IWF Fitness Expo to Take Place in Shanghai in March 2025

The 2025 International Fitness Expo (IWF) will be held in Shanghai, China from March 5-7 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. The event, covering 80,000 square meters, will feature over 1,000 exhibitors showcasing the latest in fitness equipment, accessories, wellness products, and more. This year, the expo will include new sectors, such as sports eyewear and wearable technology. Additionally, the IBE Shanghai International Billiards Expo will be held alongside the IWF, creating a unique opportunity for industry professionals to explore new products, network, and attend expert-led forums on market trends and strategies.
